Lottery Licensing

The Corporation of the Township of Hornepayne has the authority to issue lottery licenses for the majority of lottery schemes in our municipality.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) issues the licenses that local municipalities cannot, such as, Raffles with a prize board exceeding $50,000 or Bingos with a prize board exceeding $5,500.

Charitable groups that raise funds through gaming are required to apply for lottery licensing eligibility before any licenses will be issued. Approved groups are required to report their profits and indicate what the profits are being used for.

The Township of Hornepayne charges 3% of the value of the prize board as the licensing fee regardless of the type of the type of lottery.

To obtain an Lottery License Application package which includes both the Terms and Conditions as well as the Report forms  please contact the Municipal Office for further instruction.
