Eligible Hornepayne Voters
The next Municipal Election and School Board will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026. The 2026 Municipal Election is your opportunity to help shape the future of Hornepayne given that decisions made at the municipal level have a direct impact on your daily life.
This page is here to help you confirm your eligibility, understand the voting process, and find everything you need to vote with confidence.

Voters' List
Elections Ontario now maintains a Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario, commonly known as the Register or Voters’ List. The Voters’ List, is a list of individuals who are eligible to vote in provincial and local municipal elections in Ontario. You should confirm, update, or add your information if you:
- have changed your name or address;
- own or rent a new property;
- no longer own or rent a property;
- want to remove your information;
- wish to remove yourself from the Register;
- wish to remove a deceased person from the Register; or,
- wish to add yourself to the list of Future Voters (if you’re under 18 years of age).
School Support
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) remains responsible for collecting information about a voter's school support. To confirm or change your school support, use the button below.
You are eligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, if you are:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least eighteen (18) years old;
- A resident of the Township of Hornepayne or a non-resident of the Township of Hornepayne and you or your spouse own or rent property in the Township of Hornepayne; and,
- Are not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, or by law.
You are ineligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, if you are:
- A person who is not qualified;
- A person who is serving a sentence or imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution;
- A corporation;
- A person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity;
- A person who has been convicted of corrupt practices under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, if voting day in the current election is less than five (5) years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted; or,
- Anyone who is prohibited by law from voting.
As outlined in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, a person may have residences and vote in two (2) local municipalities at the same time, in the same election, if:
- The person lives in one of the local municipalities in order to attend an educational institution, but not with the intention of changing their permanent lodging place; and,
- The person's permanent lodging place is in the other local municipality.

Certification of Nominations and Declaration of Election by Acclamation
The Clerk shall certify nominations and declared any candidates elected by acclamation. s.37(1),(2) and s.37(1).

Revisions to the Voters’ List
Individuals may apply to the Clerk’s Office until the close of voting on October 26, 2026, to have their name added to or removed from the voters’ list, or to update their information. Requests may also be made to remove the name of a deceased person. s.24, 25

Voting opportunities will be available between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Voting locations will be published in advance, and voter notification packages will be provided.
